MacKinnon, Robert F.

Robert F. MacKinnon (Victoria, Canada) is a retired mathematician whose work has appeared in a number of bridge magazines. He has written two bridge novels, including the remarkable <em>Samurai Bridge</em>, as well as the best-selling (!) <em>Bridge, Probability and Information</em>. He conducts a blog on the mathematics of bridge on <a href="http://www.bridgeblogging.com">www.bridgeblogging.com</a>.

Mahmood, Zia

Zia, usually known by that name alone, is arguably the most recognizable bridge player of our times. Born in Pakistan, he has homes in London and New York, and now represents the USA in international competition. His tournament success include numerous North American championships and six world championship medals (including a gold in 2009). He writes a regular bridge column in <em>The Guardian</em> and his autobiography, Bridge My Way, as a bestseller on both sides of the Atlantic.

Manley, Brent

Brent Manley (Memphis, TN) is a professional bridge journalist. He has been editor of the ACBL Bulletin for many years, and regularly leads the Daily Bulletin team at World and European championships.

Martel, Chip

Chip Martel is a professor of Mathematics at UCLA, Davis, and a multiple World and Naitonal champion.

Martineau, Joel

Joel Martineau (Canada) was a finalist in the 2017 Canadian National Teams Championships. Since retiring from teaching literature at the University of British Columbia he has focused on teaching bridge.

Mathieson, Peter

Peter Mathieson, founder of the Beaches/Danforth Trivia League in Toronto, can look back on a varied career as a singer/songwriter, studio musician, crossword puzzle constructor, bartender, and now mutual fund representative and trivia buff. He says, &#8216;I'm another burned out hippie from the sixties, with a lot of useless knowledge I'm just dying to share with anyone who'll listen!&#8217; His over-riding ambition is to have fun, and to try to ensure that those around him do likewise.

McCance, Ian

Ian McCance (Melbourne) is one of Australia's leading master point holders. He has represented his country at the world level, and won a number of national titles. He writes a weekly bridge column in <em>The Age</em> newspaper, and &#8216;The Setting Trick&#8217; is his first book.

McKinnon, Ian

IAN McKINNON is a mathematician, expert bridge player, tournament director, author and computer professional. Through circumstance, around 1970, he started tournament directing at a major bridge club in Sydney which eventually led to him being the senior Tournament Director within the Australian Bridge Federation during the 1970s. He produced his first book, Bridge Directing Complete, in 1979. All those years of experience, and the last ten years of intense research and computer programming, have resulted in this book.

Meckstroth, Jeff

Jeff Meckstroth is one of only eight players in the history of the game to have collected all three jewels in bridge's Triple Crown: the World Open Pairs, the Bermuda Bowl, and the World Teams Olympiad. He has also won literally dozens of North American championship titles. He lives in Tampa, Florida, and his partnership with Eric Rodwell is generally considered to be the world’s best.

Miles, Marshall

Marshall Miles (1926-2013), who was a leading theorist on bidding, authored many books on bridge, including the all-time classic <em>How to Win at Duplicate Bridge</em>. His long and successful playing career includes a World Senior Teams Championship in 2004. He was one of the oldest players to win the World Senior championship and won several North American Championships.

Mollo, Victor

The late Victor Mollo (London, UK) is one of the best-loved authors ever to write about bridge. He penned many excellent how-to books on the game (including <i>Card Play Technique</i>, with Nico Gardner) but it is as a humorist, and the author of <i>Bridge in the Menagerie</i> and its sequels, that he is best remembered.

Munger, Robert

ROBERT MUNGER (Houston, Texas) is a bridge bibliophile, self-taught bidding theoretician and Silver Life Master. Father of four and grandfather of eleven, he plays bridge as much as his schedule allows. He is also the author of The Roman Two Diamond Opening and Variations.
