About the Book

Coming March 2012 This is not a book for players who win regularly at their local bridge club – it is for those who don’t, but would like to. The author does not claim to be a top-level expert, and admits that he made many mistakes on his way to earning the coveted title of Life Master. This book is intended to help others avoid those same mistakes and to learn from those that they do make. Written in a conversational, non-technical style, this is a book that will help any intermediate player become a better bidder, a better declarer, a better defender, and a better partner – the recipe for becoming a winner.

About the Author

Jim, known as James Montgomery Jackson on his tax return and by his mother whenever she was really mad at him, splits his time in the woods of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Georgia's low country. A published fiction author, this is his first bridge book.

Media Reviews

July 25th, 2012
The Bridge World
My cynical predisposition to have low expectations of an author lacking classic bridge credentials was shattered by Jim Jackson’s “One Trick At a Time”. It provides uniformly sound advice through a refreshing writing style, appropriately humorous, well-organized, and carefully edited.

The Denver Post
This book and a 299er tournament will fit together perfectly.
